Volunteers are the Lifeblood of the crucial work done by the Bristol Dogs and Cats Home and the RSPCA Bristol Clinic. Whatever your skills, there will be a way for you to lend us a helping hand. All our volunteers need to be aged over 18, but you can commit as much or little time as you can spare.
If you have good communication skills and like meeting people, then maybe working as a charity shop assistant at our fabulous charity shop in Bedminster, or our shop right here on-site might be ideal for you.
Fundraising and event volunteers are always needed to help us raise the £1.7 million we need to cover our annual running costs.
Help out at our Open Day, Christmas Fair or various other fundraising events, like sponsored dogs walks, as well as some external events such as local dog shows and many other occasions. Help is always needed at collection days and occasionally in the fundraising office to help with basic admin. This is an opportunity to make friends (human and animal!) and really benefit our cause.
With so many animals to care for our Animal Care Assistants (ACA's) could do with a helping hand or two! If you have time to spare on a regular basis, and would like to gain some valuable experience working within an animal rescue, then why not apply to become one of our Volunteer ACA's. To find out more about becoming one of our Volunteer Animal Care Assistants please click here. Please note that we currently have a hold on Volunteer ACA positions as we are lucky enough to have had lots of applicants. We are very grateful to everyone who wishes to help us care for the animals, and we will re-open this volunteer post as soon as we have space on the programme, we thank you for bearing with us.
We are very grateful to our team of Dog Walkers who help to exercise our canine friends. For more information about DOG WALKING, PLEASE CLICK HERE. We currently have a temporary hold on inducting new volunteer dog walkers, this is because we have received a high volume of applications and need time to work through our induction list. We are very grateful to everyone who wishes to walk the dogs in our care, and will update this page as soon as we are able to accept new applications for volunteer dog walkers. We very much appreciate your patience and look forward to updating this page soon.
We have a new booking in system for dog walking, this is to ensure that we are able to make the best use of the time you so generously give us, while we adapt to the daily challenges that we face as a city centre rescue. Please click here to read about these changes (a leaflet is also available to take away from our Bristol Dogs and Cats Home Recepption Team.
